IELTS পরীক্ষা (International English Language Testing System) আপনার ইংরেজি ভাষার উপর দক্ষতা মূল্যায়ন করার জন্যই মূলত ডিজাইন করা হয়েছে। এটি পৃথিবীব্যাপী সব বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়, বিভিন্ন নিয়োগকর্তা এবং অভিবাসনের কর্তৃপক্ষ দ্বারা স্বীকৃত হয়েছে। IELTS পরীক্ষার দুটি সংস্করণ রয়েছে: Academic সংস্করণ (যা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে ভর্তি হতে আগ্রহী ছাত্রদের জন্য) এবং অপরটি General প্রশিক্ষণ সংস্করণ (যা ইংরেজি ভাষী দেশগুলোতে কাজ বা কোনো প্রশিক্ষণের জন্য যেতে চাওয়া মানুষের জন্য হয়ে থাকে)।

The IELTS exam is divided into four sections:

  1. Listening
  2. Reading
  3. Writing
  4. Speaking

1. Listening (30 minutes)

  • Format: লিসেনিং পরীক্ষা Academic এবং General ট্রেনিং উভয় সংস্করণের জন্য একই রকম হয়ে থাকে।
  • এটির মধ্যে চারটি Recording রয়েছে, প্রতিটি Recording আগের. Recording এর তুলনায় আরও কঠিন হয়ে থাকে:
    • Recording 1: এটি দুইজন মানুষের মধ্যে দৈনন্দিন বিষয় নিয়ে কথপোকথন।
    • Recording 2: এটি সমাজের যেকোনো একটা বিষয় নিয়ে একক আলোচনা হয়ে থাকে।
    • Recording 3: এটি শিক্ষামূলক বা কোনো প্রশিক্ষণ নিয়ে তিন থেকে চার জনের মধ্যে একটি কথোপকথন।
    • Recording 4: এটি কোনো একাডেমিক বিযয় নিয়ে একজনের বিশ্লেষন।
  • আপনি সব রেকর্ডিংগুলির ভিত্তিতে মোট ৪০টি প্রশ্নের উত্তর দেবেন, যা আপনার অনেকগুলো বিষয় যেমন আপনার প্রধান ধারণা, বিশদ, মতামত এবং মনোভাব বোঝার ক্ষমতাকে পরীক্ষা করবে।

2. Reading (60 minutes)

  • Reading পরীক্ষা Academic এবং General ট্রেনিং প্রার্থীদের উভয়ের জন্য ভিন্ন হয়ে থাকে। For Academic:
    • তিনটি দীর্ঘ passage রয়েছে যা বই, জার্নাল, ম্যাগাজিন, এবং সংবাদপত্র থেকে নেওয়া হয়ে থাকে।
    • টেক্সটগুলি থাকে Academic প্রকৃতির, যা আপনার জটিল ধারণাগুলি বুঝতে এবং বিশ্লেষণ করতে সক্ষম যা আসলে এই পরীক্ষার জন্যই ডিজাইন করা হয়েছে।
    • আপনি মোট ৪০টি প্রশ্নের উত্তর দেবেন, যেগুলোর মধ্যে থাকতে পারে মাল্টিপল চয়েস, মাচিং, শর্ট অ্যানসার, এবং তথ্য সনাক্তকরণ সহ আরো অনেক প্রশ্ন।
  • For General Training:
    • Reading সেকশনে তিনটি অংশের টেক্সট অন্তর্ভুক্ত থাকে:
      • Section 1: ছোট লেখা যা আপনার দৈনন্দিন জীবনের সাথে সম্পর্কিত থাকে।
      • Section 2: বিভিন্ন কর্মক্ষেত্র নিয়ে লেখা হয়ে থাকে। 
      • Section 3: এটি একটু বড় এবং আগের গুলো থেকে কঠিন আকারে লেখা হয়ে থাকে।
    • মোট ৪০টি প্রশ্ন থাকে, যার মধ্যে ব্যবহারিক পড়ার দক্ষতার উপর মনোযোগ দেয়া হয়েছে।

3. Writing (60 minutes)

  • For Academic:
    • Task 1: আপনাকে একটি graph, table, chart, or diagram দেওয়া হবে যার তথ্য সারসংক্ষেপ বা ব্যাখ্যা করতে হবে।
    • Task 2: তুমি কোনো প্রশ্ন বা যুক্তির প্রেক্ষিতে একটি essay লিখবেন।
  • For General Training:
    • Task 1: আপনি প্রদত্ত পরিস্থিতির উপর ভিত্তি করে একটি চিঠি লিখবেন (formal, semi-formal, or informal).
    • Task 2: আপনি কোন দৃষ্টিভঙ্গি, যুক্তি,  অথবা সমস্যার উত্তরে একটি essay লিখবেন।
  • এটি আপনার ধরণা ব্যাখা করার ক্ষমতা, উপযুক্ত ভাষা ব্যবহার করা এবং আপনার লেখা সুসংগঠিত কিনা এটির ক্ষমতা দেখে।

4. Speaking (11–14 minutes)

  • Speaking পরীক্ষাটি Academic and General ট্রেনিং এর জন্য একই এবং তিনটি অংশ নিয়ে গঠিত:
    1. Introduction and Interview (4-5 minutes):
      • তুমি এখানে নিজের পরিচয় দিবে এবং কেছু পরিচেত সহজ প্রশ্নের উত্তর দিবে (e.g., home, family, hobbies).
    2. Long Turn (3-4 minutes):
      • আপনাকে একটি বিষয় এবং ১ মিনিট সময় দেওয়া হবে. এরপর আপনাকে ঐ বিষয়ের উপর ১ থেকে ২ মিনিট কথা বলতে হবে।
    3. Discussion (4-5 minutes):
      • এখানে পরীক্ষক আপনাকে  দ্বিতীয় অংশের সাথে সম্পর্কিত আর বিস্তারিত প্রশ্ন জিজ্ঞাসা করবেন যার মাধ্যমে সে আপনার সাথে আরো গভীর আলোচনা করতে পারবেন। 
  • এই Speaking পরীক্ষাটি রেকর্ড করা হয় যা আপনার fluency, vocabulary, grammar, and pronunciation পর্যালোচনা করার জন্য কাজে লাগে।

Scoring:

  • প্রতিটি বিভাগে 0 থেকে 9 ব্যান্ড স্কেলে স্কোর করা হয়ে থাকে।
  • মোট স্কোর হল চারটি বিভাগের গড়, যা কাছের কোনো অর্ধ ব্যান্ডে সাথে মিশে পূর্ণ হয়ে থাকে।  (e.g., 6.5, 7.0, 7.5).
  • IELTS স্কোর রিপোর্টে প্রতিটি বিভাগের জন্য পৃথক স্কোর থাকে এবং শেষে সামগ্রিক একটা ব্যান্ড স্কোর প্রদান করা হয়ে থাকে।

Important Notes:

  • Test Duration:  IELTS পরীক্ষা সাধারণত প্রায় ২ ঘণ্টা ৪৫ মিনিট সময় নেয়, তবে Speaking পরীক্ষা আলাদা দিনে নেওয়া হয়ে থাকে।
  • Listening, Reading এবং Writing পরীক্ষাগুলো একটানা একই দিনে সম্পন্ন হয়ে থাকে, তবে Speaking পরীক্ষা একই দিনে অথবা অন্য দিনে নেওয়া হয়ে থাকে।.

The IELTS exam (International English Language Testing System) is designed to assess your proficiency in English. It is recognized by universities, employers, and immigration authorities across the world. There are two versions of the IELTS exam: the Academic version (for students applying to universities) and the General Training version (for people who are going to English-speaking countries for work experience or training).

The IELTS exam is divided into four sections:

1. Listening (30 minutes)

  • Format: The listening test is the same for both the Academic and General Training versions.

2. Reading (60 minutes)

  • The Reading test is different for Academic and General Training candidates.

    For Academic:
    • There are three long reading passages taken from books, journals, magazines, and newspapers.
    • The texts are academic in nature, designed to test your ability to understand and analyze complex ideas.
    • You will answer 40 questions, which may include multiple choice, matching, short answer, and identifying information.
  • For General Training:
    • The reading section includes three sections of texts:
      • Section 1: Short texts related to everyday life.
      • Section 2: Texts related to the workplace.
      • Section 3: A longer, more complex text.
    • 40 questions are included, with a focus on practical reading skills.

3. Writing (60 minutes)

  • For Academic:
    • Task 1: You will be given a graph, table, chart, or diagram and asked to summarize or explain the information.
    • Task 2: You will write an essay in response to a question or argument.
  • For General Training:
    • Task 1: You will write a letter based on a given situation (formal, semi-formal, or informal).
    • Task 2: You will write an essay in response to a point of view, argument, or problem.
  • The Writing section assesses your ability to organize ideas, use appropriate language, and maintain coherence in your writing.

4. Speaking (11–14 minutes)

  • The Speaking test is the same for both Academic and General Training versions and consists of three parts:
    1. Introduction and Interview (4-5 minutes):
      • You will introduce yourself and answer general questions about familiar topics (e.g., home, family, hobbies).
    2. Long Turn (3-4 minutes):
      • You will be given a topic and a minute to prepare. You will then talk about the topic for 1-2 minutes.
    3. Discussion (4-5 minutes):
      • The examiner will ask more detailed questions related to the topic from Part 2, allowing you to discuss abstract ideas or issues in greater depth.
  • The Speaking test is recorded and assesses your fluency, vocabulary, grammar, and pronunciation.

Scoring:

  • প্রতিটি বিভাগে 0 থেকে 9 ব্যান্ড স্কেলে স্কোর করা হয়।.
  • মোট স্কোর হল চারটি বিভাগের গড়, যা নিকটতম অর্ধ ব্যান্ডে পূর্ণাঙ্গ করা হয়েছে। (e.g., 6.5, 7.0, 7.5).

Important Notes:
